Job Opportunity: Accountant
Role Overview:
We are seeking a finance professional to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our client’s finance department. Whether you are fully qualified or qualified by experience, our client is looking for a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting processes. You will be part of a small team working for a business that has been very successful for many years.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily banking activities, record transactions, and manage monthly bank reconciliations.
2. Process and file purchase and expense invoices, handle supplier payments, and reconcile accounts monthly.
3. Assist in preparing year-end draft management accounts.
4. Manage sales invoicing, customer statements, and overdue account follow-ups.
5. Monitor stock adjustments, ensuring accurate monthly postings to the ledger.
6. Prepare and file bi-monthly VAT returns and maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations.
7. Execute payroll processing on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis, ensuring timely tax submissions.
8. Maintain and update financial records in line with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
1. Recognised Accounting qualification - ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or qualified by experience.
2. Strong background in Accounting within the SME sector.
3. Experienced working with small teams.
4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with non-financial stakeholders.
