Location and Work Arrangements
Galway, with a hybrid working model that includes 2 days per week onsite.
Contract Type and Duration
Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) for 12 months, with the possibility of further extension.
Experience Level Required
At least 4 years of relevant experience in software testing is mandatory. Candidates with less experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage all client testing and validation activities throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC), ensuring quality assurance of CoVIS Contractor system testing, functional integration testing, and client regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
2. Oversee and manage the design, maintenance, and execution of robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data, aligned with Test Strategies.
3. Ensure performance, stress, and volume testing of non-functional requirements are conducted, and findings are progressed.
4. Maintain and ensure the completeness of the requirements traceability matrix throughout the test phase.
5. Drive communication between testing, business analysis, architecture, and development/production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage.
6. Resource planning and developing release work plans and schedules for validation and execution of test cases, in line with the overall agreed CoVIS Contractor program of work.
7. Review and input into overall project timelines, project and cost estimation, budget development, and cost control for applications/projects in scope from a testing perspective.
8. Input into project approval and sign-off for all test activity and documentation.
9. Engage and coordinate with third-party vendors regarding software testing and validation.
10. Review CoVIS Contractor or other third-party test documentation.
11. Manage testing risks and issues.
12. Review and develop system enhancement requirements and system changes.
13. Day-to-day management of defects raised with CoVIS Contractor, from initial logging to defect resolution in production.
14. Chair test review meetings as appropriate and deliver test status reports to key stakeholders.
15. Manage all testing documentation on the Authority's Sharepoint site.
16. Coordinate release plans and communications to system users.
17. Provide independent software quality assurance regarding CoVIS Contractor deliverables and offer best practice guidance to the Authority on software testing.
18. Coordinate internal testing resources allocated as required.
Requirements
1. Practical experience overseeing and managing robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data, meeting deadlines and agreed standards, and recording and analyzing test results.
2. Practical experience in resourcing planning and developing release work plans and schedules for validation and execution of test cases, providing progress reports, anomaly identification, risk assessment, and issue management.
3. Practical experience driving communication between test, business analysis, architecture, development/production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage, and providing support to business users on testing activities in UAT.
4. Practical experience working with RESTful APIs, performing SOAP Web Service functional testing on Postman and/or SoapUI, and manual functional and non-functional testing; experience with test management systems (e.g., Azure Dev Ops/Bugzilla/Jira or equivalent).
