Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring, building and managing servers and storage, as well as maintaining virtual environments to ensure high availability and reliability. The role involves monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving issues, and delivering projects for various stakeholders across the business. As Systems Engineer, you will support business continuity initiatives, participate in system upgrades, and provide hands-on technical support and expertise as needed. Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to system maintenance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential.Specific Duties & Tasks:Provide technical capability, support and maintenance on all Virgin Media Ireland’s IT systems.Experience of analyzing, assessing and resolving complex technology requirements, problems and issuesDemonstrates strong ability to work under pressure with multiple competing prioritiesProvide specialist technology skills, working with other teams to ensure the smooth implementation of new technologies and services.Manage infrastructure assets ensuring the correct balance of proactive & reactive maintenance, to deliver optimum service levels to the businessEnsure support processes are defined and continuously reviewed, appropriate documentation created, and training requirements are identified.
