Location: BallinaDepartment: OperationsSummary:The Reliability Engineering role is key in ensuring the site delivers improved line performance and drives enhanced maintenance effectiveness. This role will report to the maintenance organization and will be a cornerstone in the site's journey to world-class maintenance. A key element of the role is to assess recurring breakdowns and line performance issues, implementing viable solutions to eliminate the root causes while leveraging HPS tools to achieve sustained high-performing equipment. The role will collaborate closely with the wider maintenance team and utilize existing expertise in both other onsite functions and within the wider Hollister network.Responsibilities:Utilizing line performance data on a weekly and monthly basis to identify trends and causes of equipment failures. Develop solutions to address the true root cause and work with relevant functions to ensure timely implementation.Utilize external maintenance benchmarks (e.g., AMIS) to understand the site's strengths and weaknesses in relation to maintenance systems. Work with maintenance management to devise a strategy to address these gaps.Act as a coach/mentor with other maintenance and manufacturing groups to enhance the overall site capability in reliability engineering and its impact on site performance.Assess site maintenance costs to identify sources of financial waste and develop solutions to reduce costs where practical.Understand the process by evaluating process and technical data, literature, and working closely with the Support functions.Facilitate and, where required, lead the implementation of HPS tools in the maintenance function, with a particular focus on PM, TPM, and QCO elements.Develop and enforce an Asset Operations plan to ensure optimum utilization and operating efficiency of Ostomy’s Production assets, and develop an asset maintenance plan to ensure effective maintenance for each plant asset within Ostomy.Ensure asset ABC analysis is as per PM standard and data is updated at an appropriate frequency (e.g., annually).Pilot the use of a proactive approach to maintenance, ensuring Preventative/Predictive maintenance effectively prevents equipment failure through risk assessment tools (e.g., FMEA, Reliability-Based Maintenance).Support the implementation of Operator Asset Care (OAC) principles, ensuring performance issues are identified and addressed at the earliest opportunity.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the CMMS system, supporting end users as required and providing training for standardized use.Engage with the wider Hollister network and other local manufacturing sites in the region to develop a support network. Understand best practices at these sites and how they can be applied to the Ballina site.Adhere to the life cycle asset management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets and conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) by applying failure data analysis techniques.Demonstrate a collaborative approach with process engineering and project engineering to review maintenance and installation plans for new equipment, providing reliability and maintainability specifications for changes.Occasionally act as backup to the Maintenance Supervisor for short periods to cover holidays, etc.Work Experience Required:5+ years' work experience.Technical skills and experience in Reliability Engineering.Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Essential Functions of the Role:Strong IT skills and proficiency in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology (e.g., Hollister Production System) is beneficial.Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.Ability to work with multiple functions and stakeholders to derive viable solutions, with a proven track record of successful implementation.Requires innovative thinking, proposing and implementing new and untested solutions regularly.Understanding of applicable regulatory (safety and quality) requirements and their application to current practices and proposed solutions.Results-driven, striving to meet all targets and metric standards set by site/department and division leaders.Dansac has been providing innovative solutions for people with a stoma, clinicians, and caregivers for more than four decades.
