Marketing & Digital Communications Officer
Dublin Fringe Festival is seeking a Marketing and Digital Communications Officer to support the Head of Marketing in the execution of both the festival’s annual marketing campaign and the year-round promotion of its artist support initiatives. This role is central to shaping the festival’s presence across digital and traditional marketing channels, with a particular focus on social media strategy and growth.
You will play a key role in managing content across all social platforms, creating compelling visual and written content, running paid digital campaigns, and engaging with online communities to maximise reach and impact. Additionally, you will support website updates, promotional material production, and the creation of the festival brochure, ensuring a cohesive and engaging brand presence.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires creativity, strong organisational skills, and attention to detail. You’ll be part of a small but mighty team, working across departments to deliver a festival that champions new voices and innovative performance. Beyond the festival, this role will also be key in connecting audiences and artists with Dublin Fringe’s year-round support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Content Creation & Communications
* Execute the Dublin Fringe Festival’s digital marketing strategy under the direction of the Head of Marketing.
* Manage and grow social media presence across key festival channels, creating engaging content (graphics, video, copy) to amplify the festival’s programme and year-round artist support work.
* Design and produce high-quality digital assets (social media graphics, web banners, email visuals) that align with the festival’s brand identity and engage audiences.
* Plan and schedule content using social media tools (Later, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite) and optimise audience engagement.
* Oversee social media engagement, responding to audiences to maintain a vibrant online presence.
* Create and manage paid digital marketing campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads), optimising for engagement and ROI.
* Monitor digital analytics, providing data-driven insights to the Head of Marketing for strategy refinement.
* Write compelling copy for website updates, newsletters, fundraising initiatives, and festival announcements.
* Create and manage engaging email campaigns using Mailchimp, crafting compelling newsletters that highlight festival updates, artist spotlights, and key announcements while driving audience engagement.
* Manage website content updates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with marketing objectives.
* Ensure accessibility and usability of online content, aligning with best practices in digital engagement.
Marketing & Campaign Support
* Assist in executing the festival’s overall marketing strategy, including both the annual festival campaign and year-round promotion of Dublin Fringe’s artist support work, residencies, fundraising initiatives, and charity programs.
* Support the production of the festival’s annual brochure and other printed marketing materials, working with designers and printers to create brand-aligned, high-quality assets that ensure accuracy, consistency, and strong visual presentation.
* Ensure brand consistency across all festival marketing efforts, both digital and print.
* Work with designers, photographers, videographers, and printers to develop high-quality visuals and materials.
* Collaborate across departments (Programming, Box Office, Production) to align marketing efforts with festival goals.
* Mentor Fringe artists, providing guidance on branding, audience engagement, and social media strategy to help market their shows effectively.
* Assist the Head of Marketing to explore and maximise partner marketing opportunities.
* Assist with sponsorship and partnership marketing, ensuring deliverables are met and sponsors are well-represented.
* Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts, including promoting campaigns and creating marketing materials for fundraising initiatives.
* Conduct audience research, identifying trends and best practices in arts marketing to refine future campaigns.
* Provide general support across all marketing activities to ensure the smooth execution of campaigns, events, and promotional efforts.
Minimum Requirements
* At least 2 years’ experience in digital communications or marketing, with proven experience in social media strategy, content creation, and paid digital marketing.
* Strong graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, Final Cut Pro).
* Excellent copywriting and brand storytelling skills.
* Experience in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and audience targeting.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
* Experience in arts marketing, festivals, or event promotion.
* Experience in uploading and managing website content (WordPress, Craft CMS, or similar).
* Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and email marketing tools (Mailchimp, CRM platforms, etc.).
* Familiarity with Dublin’s arts scene and audience engagement strategies.
* Basic knowledge of photography and video production.
* Experience of creating accessible digital content.

Contract: Fixed-term (April – September 2024)
Engagement:
April: Part-time (2 days/week)
May – September 21st: Full-time
September 22nd & 29th: Part-time (2 days/week)
