Charles River Biologics is looking for a Sales Support Specialist to join on a permanent basis. This position is fully remote and we are looking to consider applicants across Western Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to transition into a scientific sales role.
The Sales Support Specialist will be responsible for achieving quarterly and annual sales targets of Biologics Testing and other Manufacturing services in a given territory. The role involves engaging with prospects and existing customers while guiding customers to Biologics services that best meet their needs.
Responsibilities:
• Meet or exceed overall targets and business objectives.
• Work closely with the business development team, management and different stakeholders (operations, client services, marketing, legal, project management, etc) to increase market share in a given territory.
• Get proactive, with support from management, in applying account-specific sales strategies to sell portfolio services.
• Develop and qualify account leads through prospecting and frequent customer interactions.
• Gather data on potential customers in their designated geographic region.
• Build relationships with customers to influence the acceptance and use of services, in coordination with the business development team.
• Handle initial inquiries and qualify all prospective opportunities.
• Work with management to prepare and implement a comprehensive territory management plan to indicate target opportunities, potential new accounts, expansion of existing accounts and an analysis of competitor accounts.
• Gather data on market trends and competition, including new services and prices.
• On a daily basis, use CRM (Salesforce) to reflect all client interactions, to keep the pipeline of opportunity up to date and to upload all information related to the sales process.
• Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in sales meetings and trade shows, as required.
• Share customer problems/concerns with all appropriate departments for quality resolution.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
• Liaise, when necessary, with other departments and divisions to satisfy customer requests and development.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in life sciences. PhD is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in life sciences: combined technical and sales experience. Previous experience in client liaison, project management and/or analytical development acquired in the biotech/biopharma industry will be preferred.
• Strong ability to identify and qualify customer needs. Ability to identify and tackle obstacles to the sales process.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence at the highest organizational levels.
• Social adaptability, cultural fluency, respect for other customs and practices
• Other: excellent communication and presentation skills. Willingness to learn and join a dynamic working environment.
• Proficient in the use of office/sales computer applications/software
• Certification/Licensure: valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to travel (domestic and abroad) sporadically, when required.
• Fluency in English is a must, another European language is a plus.
