Position Summary:
The clients Global Finance (The clients GF) Operational Risk Management (ORM), part of The clients ORM, performs the second line oversight of operational risk for the Irish legal entity. The successful candidate will provide independent oversight and challenge to the 1st line of defense and ensure that the risk profiles of the region and legal entity is properly understood and operating in line with Operational Risk Appetite.
The role will report locally functionally into the The clients GF Operational Risk Manager.
Accountabilities:
1. Support the The clients GF Operational Risk Manager in all matters relating to operational risk management
2. Support the The clients GF Operational Risk Manager in the implementation of The clients GF's Operational Risk Management Framework
3. Assist with ensuring that The clients Bank Group (The clientsBG) Operational Risk Management policies and procedures are appropriate for The clients GF and for developing local policies and procedures as required
4. Assist with ensuring accurate, complete, objective identification and assessment of operational risk for The clients GF
5. Support the development of the The clients GF Operational Risk Appetite and monitoring (and reporting on) compliance therewith
6. Assist with the facilitation of the The clients GF Risk and Control Self-Assessment programs
7. Coordination of the The clients GF issues management programs
8. Contribute to the The clients GF Scenario Analysis programs
9. Monitor and report on internal and external loss events (and constructively challenge responses to internal loss events)
10. Assist with second line oversight and challenge of outsourcing
11. Provide analysis, interpretation and consolidation of operational risk reporting to the The clients GF CRO for onward reporting to the The clients GF Executive Risk Committee and the The clients GF Board of Directors
12. Ad hoc projects and initiatives as required
13. Maintain full professional knowledge of techniques and developments in operational risk management by keeping current on industry trends and best practice
14. Develop and maintain good relationships with key business and operational risk management partners and other stakeholders
15. Responsible for ensuring that local and functional managers are kept current and apprised of all relevant operational, risk management and control issues
16. Responsible for own good conduct and for contributing to the identification and management of Conduct Risk within the Risk Management function
Requirements:
17. Previous experience in banking Operational Risk Management, preferably in capital markets
18. Educated to degree level
19. Strong interpersonal skills
20. Ability to work independently
21. High level of dependability with a results-orientation
22. Very keen focus on meeting deadlines
23. A demonstrated ability to focus on detail
24. Strategic thinker
