The role is for a Commercial Package Underwriter, focussed significantly on new business. You would be responsible for new business as well as renewal underwriting and trading with broker partners from across the Ireland region, including pipelining, quoting, negotiating and underwriting new P&C package business.
You will be expected to have property and casualty technical experience, knowledge and aptitude to establish underwriting authority and exercise this within Chubb's technical guidelines and best practices. You will also be expected to have passion, skill and a track record for new business developmen in the middle-market segment. You will be measured against key new business and renewal metrics and goals.
Positive engagement and collaboration with our broker partners, underwriting management, sales and distribution and cross-line colleagues would be key to success in this role.
The role is based in our Dublin office
Your Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
Underwriting, quoting and converting new P&C package business in the lower middle-market segment, in-line with targets and the overall business plan.
Regular engagement with our producers and BDMs to develop and execute on a pipeline of opportunities
Effective trading behaviours, negotiation and engagement to successfully close new opportunities.
Consistently providing a high level of underwriting service and speed of response to our brokers.
Collaborating with sales and distribution, other lines of business, risk engineering, operations and underwriting management to effectively deliver the Chubb proposition.
Maintaining underwriting integrity by adhering to Chubb's best practices monitored by regular peer reviews.
Keeping accurate underwriting records and data.
Representing and promoting Chubb to brokers and building strong relationships with key producers.
Conducting business ethically within Chubb's code of conduct, compliance guidelines, underwriting guidelines and service standards.
An advocate for the brand, building and maintaining an excellent external reputation, consistent with Chubb's values, ethics, culture, and standards.
