MagrowTec Ltd. is a science-led technology business operating in the agricultural spray sector.
We are in an exciting scale-up phase, developing innovative products based on our core magnetic assist technology.
Our focus is on enhancing the efficiency of agricultural spraying through the magnetic treatment of fluid to modify droplet behaviour.

Our Industrial Research and Engineering Support Team (IR&ES) operate within the Agri-Tech Centre at Harper Adams University, where they undertake core science research and engineering activities.
We also have our MagrowTec Agricultural Research Centre (MARC) located in Cirencester, where our Crop Science Teams undertake field and empirical studies for internal discovery research alongside trials and demonstrations for commercial support.
We intend to establish a Dublin-based Research Centre which will be our primary R&D facility, here we will establish teams of chemists, physicists, plant biologists and engineers.
In addition to our Internal R&D activities, we also collaborate with the Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research Centre (AMBER) at Trinity College Dublin.
For the past 5 years, we have undertaken joint research programmes working with global thought leaders expanding our knowledge and capabilities within our sector.
Our RD&I Board is externally Chaired by the past Dean of the UCD Mechanical Engineering School, the remit of which is to advance our core technology.
As a technology business, our primary focus is to advance existing and develop new Intellectual Property (IP).
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced R&D Director to lead our global research and development team.
Position Overview We are looking for a highly skilled R&D Director with a strong chemistry background and product development experience to drive innovation and R&D.
This role requires a strategic thinker who understands both the science behind our technology and the product development lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping our R&D strategy and roadmap, ensuring that our research and new product development activities align with market and commercial needs.
The position is based in Dublin and will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Direct reports include the Lead Research Scientist and Research Engineers.
Key Responsibilities Lead, manage and expand the global R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring high performance and alignment with business objectives.
Drive ideation, selection, and prioritisation of new product development programmes based on market and commercial needs.
Manage and report on product development projects.
Advance MagrowTec's core magnetic assist technology and explore new innovations in Nanobubble and Nanoparticle technology.
Develop and implement world-class R&D processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
Work closely with the commercial team to ensure product development aligns with customer needs and market trends.
Contribute to the development of the company's R&D strategy and roadmap.
Drive the patent process, from invention disclosures to securing intellectual property rights.
Implement, manage and oversee all product development processes and procedures.
Assist in securing funding for R&D activities through grants and other financial mechanisms available in Ireland and the EU.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and presentations, acting as a thought leader in the field.
Travel as required to support global R&D initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations.
Key Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D.
or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
Extensive experience in R&D leadership, preferably within the agricultural, water treatment, or related technology sectors.
Strong background in product development, with a proven track record of bringing scientific innovations to market.
Deep understanding of magnetic treatment of fluids and its applications in agriculture is highly desirable.
Experience in developing and managing Nanobubble and Nanoparticle technologies is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary R&D teams in a fast-paced environment.
Proven expertise in implementing and optimising R&D processes and best practices.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive innovation.
Knowledge of funding opportunities and experience in securing research and development financing within Ireland and the EU.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to engage with stakeholders, investors, and industry leaders.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed.
