The Role
The primary function of the Coffee Shop Manager is to take accountability for the coffee shop. This role will see you delivering exceptional customer care, meeting operational standards to maximise sales and profitability, all while maintaining costs alongside the store management team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leading the standard of coffee quality, customer service, and presentation in the unit while providing constant supervision in all areas.
2. Developing and maintaining excellent communication skills with Senior Management in the store.
3. Providing a fast, friendly, and efficient level of customer service.
4. Operating a 3 group manual/semi-automatic coffee machine and setting up/maintaining the grinder throughout the day.
5. Ensuring that espresso shots and milk are prepared to a consistently high standard.
6. Preparing and assisting with food preparation, setting up counters and merchandising the Kiosk, and taking full responsibility for all products from the point of entry to the exit.
7. Developing an efficient cleaning schedule to ensure the regular and systematic cleaning of the coffee machine and equipment in the Kiosk while also adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
8. Monitoring and delivering the HACCP programme while ensuring that food safety, food presentation, hygiene, and quality standards are adhered to.
9. Placing product orders with agreed suppliers on a daily/weekly basis and being responsible for the control of waste in the unit.
10. Adhering to specifications, standards, and procedures while at work and ensuring that staff comply with company policy and procedures.
11. Providing ongoing staff training by continuously motivating and developing the skills of the team.
12. Planning and implementing an efficient work schedule for the Kiosk in order to ensure job rotation and flexibility of all staff while maximising their productivity.
13. Dealing with any problems as they arise and reporting them to Store Management.
14. Undertaking any practical duties which may arise in an emergency to ensure the smooth running of the Kiosk.
Requirements
To apply for this role you must have previous experience working with coffee. Previous experience managing in a similar operation is preferable. You will also have:
1. Barista skills with a knowledge and understanding of coffee.
2. Experience using a 3 group machine or similar.
3. Experience and training on HACCP and Food Safety.
4. An advanced level of English combined with a professional and polite manner.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to work with coffee.
6. Flexibility to work 5 days over 7.
