SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To work alongside the Director of Revenue to ensure that the highest possible yield is achieved for each room and that all reservations taken are accurate and within our limitations. To develop relations with travel agents and to assist in managing all web-based business attained by the hotel.
The team member must be available to work weekends when business requires it.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To deputize for the Director of Revenue, taking responsibility for the running of the department in his/her absence.
2. To take reservations, yielding the best possible rate and managing availability appropriately.
3. Effective rooms management, maximising total room sales potential within the hotel, cross selling to other departments in the hotel.
4. To assist the Director of Revenue in managing all websites ensuring Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel receives maximum exposure and gains profitable business from such websites.
5. To assist Director of Revenue and Director of Sales & Marketing, in managing the content on Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel's website ensuring rates and availability are accurate at all times.
6. To work on reception when necessary, covering breaks and shifts as per the needs of the business.
7. To be actively involved in the upselling of the hotel facilities to potential clients of the hotel.
8. To be flexible in terms of your availability.
9. To follow our four-star standards at all times, ensuring the guest is looked after at all times and encouraging repeat business.
10. To ensure an accurate and timely response to guest enquiries.
11. To attend Hotel and department meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
12. To ensure safe and secure working practices regarding the handling of cash, keys and guest belongings.
13. To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing and Employment, ensuring that members of the Team are trained and aware of these requirements.
