About the Role
We are partnering with a busy local law firm to find an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to support a solicitor specialising in Family & Matrimonial Law.
Job Summary
* Provide administrative and secretarial support to the solicitor, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
* Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
* Manage and organise client files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
* Handle diary management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating court dates.
* Liaise with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
* Prepare court bundles and other legal documentation as required.
* Assist with billing, time recording, and general case management.
* Maintain an organised filing system (both digital and physical).
* Perform general administrative duties, including answering calls, taking messages, and handling post.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Family & Matrimonial Law or Litigation.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure.
* Understanding of legal terminology and procedures related to family law.
* Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive client matters.
