Sales Manager – Clayton Hotel Sligo
We have a fantastic new vacancy for Sales Manager in the excellent Clayton Hotel Sligo. Set on beautiful grounds overlooked by the spectacular Benbulben Mountain, the 4-star Clayton Hotel Sligo has 162 bedrooms of which 96 are superior bedrooms. The Hotel has 6 meeting rooms, accommodating 2 to 600 delegates, all of which are situated in the purpose-built conference centre.
Objective of the Role
In this dynamic and challenging role, the Sales & Marketing Manager will be responsible for maximising the sales potential and achieving revenue budgets via bedrooms, conference rooms & food & beverage.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
1. Plan and direct day to day operation of the sales & marketing function to ensure maximum revenue & profitability and provide potential and existing clients with the highest level of sales service.
2. Perform day to day sales activity including lead generation, face to face meetings, contracting & rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade shows, client entertainment and national/international sales trips.
3. Undertake monthly corporate tracking of corporate accounts to monitor production and identify any decreases and take necessary action to remedy same.
4. Identification and management of all Corporate and Consortia RFP’s with volume for city, ensuring maximum inclusion for the hotels.
5. Analysis of GDS production reports & intelligence information to develop business channel.
6. Focus on driving meeting & conference business into hotel.
7. Report weekly & monthly on account performance and general activity to General Manager and Central Office.
8. Input to hotel pricing strategy and forecasting with General Manager and Revenue Manager.
9. Management of annual marketing budget.
10. Executive quarterly activity plans to create focus for the team and adapt activity to support business needs.
11. Devise and execute hotel sales & marketing promotional campaigns through local & national media, evaluating & reporting on marketing campaigns ROI.
12. Arrange regular corporate entertainment.
13. Develop printed promotional material including brochures, fliers, special offers, posters, tent cards etc. in line with brand standards.
14. Manage online marketing & brand website through content development and continually driving customers direct to this sale channel.
15. Attend Group consumer and trade promotions as required and schedule relevant individual promotions for the hotel.
16. Ensure the accurate processing, distribution, recording/filing and follow up of all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations, confirmations, cancellations, etc. Utilise CRM system for client database building.
17. Represent the hotel at sales team meetings and other events as appropriate.
18. Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis; monitoring their performance, rates and sales activity.
19. Protect and promote the image of hotel at all times, both in print and verbally.
20. Be fully aware of the main market developments and other factors that would influence business or create favourable market conditions.
Requirements
1. 2 to 3 years in a Sales/Marketing role, ideally in a Hotel or customer focused environment.
2. A creative thinker with an outgoing personality who can drive new relationships as well as maintain existing ones.
3. Experience of effective people management in a team environment.
4. Sales focused, target and results driven.
5. Effective communicator to clients and colleagues, individually and in groups; with the capacity to provide clear written reports.
6. Confident, ambitious and pro-active.
