POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv is seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Student Mechanical Design Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be in full-time third-level education where they must take a 1-year placement in industry. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reporting to the Department Head, this position presents an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the Mechanical design aspects of electrical switchgear and contribute to product improvements of the same.
• The main remit of the role will involve working with senior design engineers and the Switchgear Product manager in the preparation of detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for LV Switchgear products and other support functions for this part of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Be enrolled in a third-level Engineering course with a bias towards Mechanical Engineering.
• An understanding of Engineering Design Principles.
• Working knowledge and experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience with MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
