The Role:
Our client is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Livestock Buyer to join their growing team. This supplier-facing role is based in Kildare and involves building strong relationships with farmers and agents to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality livestock. It is a dynamic, fast-paced position suited to someone with excellent industry knowledge and a keen eye for animal quality.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure a sufficient and consistent supply of livestock into the supply chain to meet demand.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with livestock agents and farmers.
3. Manage the transportation of stock, ensuring humane, ethical, and timely deliveries.
4. Ensure compliance with industry standards and farm assurance requirements.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to maintain an efficient supply chain.
6. Stay updated on market trends and price fluctuations within the sector.
The Person:
1. Strong knowledge and understanding of livestock production systems.
2. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
3. A natural networker with a passion for livestock and strong industry relationships.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
5. A team player who can collaborate across different business functions.
6. Driven, resilient, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.

10. Full Irish or UK driving licence.
The Offer:
