Pinewood Healthcare is a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of healthcare products, currently employing over 320 people across two sites in Tipperary and Dublin. Originally established in 1976 to serve the renal care market in Ireland, Pinewood evolved over the years under indigenous Irish ownership until its sale in 2006 to the Wockhardt Group, an Indian global pharmaceutical and biotechnology company headquartered in Mumbai, India. Wockhardt employs over 7,000 people across 27 nationalities with a presence in the USA, UK, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Russia and many other countries. It has manufacturing and research facilities in India, the USA and UK and a manufacturing facility in Ireland (Pinewood Healthcare).
We are currently recruiting a candidate to partake in a Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship. This Apprenticeship is a 3 year contract and the successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. On completion of the apprenticeship the successful candidate will attain a Level 7 bachelor degree in Manufacturing Engineering.

The responsibilities & the impact you will have:
The apprentice manufacturing technician will be required to undertake, and successfully complete, each module of a 3 year apprenticeship program. They will be expected to be self-driven and display a high level of motivation to succeed. They must be willing to learn and possess the ability to challenge themselves on a daily basis. They must provide support to the maintenance function and must be willing to embrace mentoring from experienced technical mentors. They must attain suitable knowledge and skills that will enable them become fluent at troubleshooting, critical thinking, process improvement, automation, quality compliance and health and safety methods, which will combine to develop the successful candidate in to a highly skilled and qualified manufacturing technician.

Requirements:
Achieved successful Leaving Cert.
* Grade 05 at ordinary level in 5 subjects 2 of which must be maths and a language (English or Irish).
* Mature student with relevant experience and qualification route if over 23 years of age will be considered.
* Availability to spend 15 weeks, per year, in College to complete the "off the job" phase of the apprenticeship.
* Availability to start in July 2024
* This apprenticeship programme requires a high level of dedication, commitment and focus, it's technical and academic content must be embraced and completed by the successful candidate
