Our client,
a public sector body, are currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join their Capital & Estates Department in the West Dublin area.
This is an initial 1-year fixed term role with great potential for further extension.
This role provides a range of professional, technical, project management, property, energy, sustainability, fire and safety and related services in respect of the procurement, development, operation and maintenance of the client’s physical infrastructure – including lands, buildings, plant and equipment.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and oversee both major and minor capital projects across the designated area.
2. Manage specific projects, both minor and major, within the program’s framework.
3. Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for buildings, services, and equipment in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
4. Ensure that all buildings, services, and equipment adhere to the safety and maintenance standards outlined in approved programs.
5. Collaborate with the Property Manager to uphold property protocols, assess the organization’s property portfolio, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
6. Establish and implement fire prevention measures in coordination with the Fire & Safety Officer.
7. Provide guidance on energy efficiency and collaborate with service personnel and advisors to optimize energy use in organizational facilities.
8. Offer expertise on facilities and environmental concerns, working closely with service personnel, Capital & Estates personnel, and advisors.
Requirements
9. Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland major academic award in Architecture, Engineering or Surveying accredited by the relevant Professional Institute
OR
Have Membership of the relevant professional association:
– Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland
– Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
– Engineers Ireland
– Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
AND
10. Have at least five years’ in planning, design, project management or construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings
Knowledge & Experience
11. A high level of expertise and experience regarding the construction of buildings and building services and an understanding of the maintenance requirements.
12. Strong knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards
13. Leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to work with multi-disciplinary team members
14. Effective communication skills, including the ability to facilitate and train other team members
