Vaughans Kilfenora Pub and Restaurant, a distinguished culinary destination, is in search of an experienced and innovative Senior Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, responsible for overseeing all aspects of culinary operations, maintaining exceptional food quality, and driving the creative direction of our culinary offerings.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the kitchen team, ensuring a positive, high-energy work environment, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
2. Menu Development: Curate and develop innovative menus, dishes, and specials in line with the restaurant's concept, ensuring a balance of creativity, quality, and profitability.
3. Kitchen Management: Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, maintaining high standards and consistency.
4. Staff Training and Development: Mentor and train kitchen staff, encouraging skill development, and ensuring adherence to the highest culinary standards.
5. Quality Control: Maintain and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure all dishes meet the established quality and taste standards.
6. Budgeting and Inventory Control: Manage food costs, budgets, and inventory effectively, ensuring minimal waste and maximum profitability.
7. Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to health and safety standards, ensuring the kitchen is compliant with all regulations.
8. Collaboration: Liaise with suppliers, management, and other departments to coordinate and optimize kitchen activities.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment.
* Culinary qualifications and certifications.
* A strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
* Creative thinking and a passion for delivering high-quality culinary experiences.
Qualifications:
* Culinary degree or relevant certification.
* Certification in food safety and hygiene standards.
* Extensive experience in a similar high-volume and quality-focused kitchen environment.
