Marketing Communications Specialist (Finance)

The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the marketing team, assist in the creation, execution, and ongoing management of YWCA's marketing, communications, public relations, and social media activity in alignment with the strategic communications plan to inspire support for the agency and its services. This includes:
1. Social media management, content creation, online community management, website updates, and more.
2. Spearheading new online projects and staying abreast of current trends that will raise the profile and awareness of YWCA Metro St. Louis through online communications, media relations, and online community building.
3. Assisting with traditional marketing activities, including the creation of print and broadcast ads, and long-form video production.
4. Working closely with the development department to create communications to support fundraising activities and events, and supporting other programs and administrative departments as needed.
Responsibilities
1. Social Media & Online Community Management: Drive and implement ongoing social media initiatives for YWCA programs and brand. Maintain and grow YWCA's social media presence in a manner that engages the current community and brings in new audiences. Create, schedule, and publish content for all social media channels. Maintain a social media calendar in alignment with agency priorities. Identify and implement new ways to engage online with community partners to expand YWCA's reach and brand awareness, including utilizing media and community partners. Assist with reputation management by monitoring online feedback through social listening and identifying opportunities and threats in the social media and digital space. Recommend advertising campaigns through social media platforms. Monitor and track results. Tweak campaigns through tools such as Google and Facebook analytics.
2. Maintain and manage online listings and review sites such as Yelp, Google Business, etc., and leverage user feedback on these sites to advance the mission of YWCA. Seek out and implement the newest online marketing trends. Provide benchmarks and analyze data from social media initiatives to make recommendations on future communications planning and other decision-making. Optimize digital communications for search engines and maximum performance on targeted social platforms. Conduct keyword research to drive content creation and online advertising.
3. Communications & Content Creation: Convene and work collaboratively with YWCA staff to collect, write, and publish content for marketing initiatives, websites, social media, fundraising opportunities, partner websites, and more. Write copy for programs, events, and initiatives. Create content and update ywcastl.org for the purposes of promoting events and initiatives online and search engine optimization. Experience working in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus but is not required. Maintain online properties: copywriting, editing, and managing online content. With the Chief Marketing Officer, develop and refine internal and external email marketing campaigns to support development, inspire new support, and update the community about YWCA initiatives and program participation.
4. Public Relations: Help drive efforts and design initiatives for external public relations. Create, proofread, and disseminate press releases to traditional media outlets, as well as online. Monitor partner sites for shareable content. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Formal Education: Associates or bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, English, Communications, or related field is preferred; 3-5 years of experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and proofreading skills; writing samples required. Skilled and updated knowledge of current social media trends, platforms, and best practices. There are no supervisory responsibilities.
