Flexible working options are available for this role, with the candidate(s) primarily based in Cavan General Hospital, responsible for managing both Cavan General Hospital and Monaghan Hospitals. The posts will cover clinical site management for Cavan General Hospital.
A total of one full-time permanent position is currently available in Cavan and Monaghan Hospital. A panel may be created from this campaign for Cavan & Monaghan Hospital from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration may be filled.
Purpose of the Post
The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) is responsible for overseeing the management of safe, efficient patient care within the hospital on a 24-hour basis, 7 days per week. This role oversees the management of the hospital out of hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends, with varied shift times.
The post involves internal rotation from days to nights. The post-holder may be required to rotate into a Directorate ADON post if and as required in line with service need.
Key Responsibilities
The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) will work in close partnership with the Directorate ADONs to ensure seamless leadership and management of nursing and HCA resources on a continual basis.
The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) may be responsible for patient flow management out of core hours, including evenings, weekends, and is responsible for patient flow management at night.
The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) will ensure that the nursing/HCA workforce is supported and deployed to meet the needs of patient care and the service on a day-to-day basis.
The ADON (Clinical Site Manager) plays a vital role in contributing to the Nursing Service Plan, Directorate Service Plans, and Corporate Strategy.
As part of the out-of-hours role, the ADON will also have responsibility for Women's and Children's Services, including maternity services.
Essential Criteria
* Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
o Eligible applicants must be registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division and other divisions relevant to the specific service of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland.
o Applicants must have 7 years of post-registration nursing experience and 3 years of nursing management experience at a minimum of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) in an acute setting.
o Successful completion of a post-registration program of study, verified by the education provider, which verifies that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland.
* Annual Registration:
o Practitioners must maintain live annual registration in the General Nurse Division and other divisions relevant to the specific service of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland.
o Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
* Age: Only applicable to non-new entrants under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
* Health: Candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health indicating a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
* Character: Candidates must be of good character.
Post-Specific Requirements
Demonstrate depth and breadth of nursing management experience, including evidence of budgetary and staff management as relevant to the role.
