QA Test Engineer - Contract Role
Job Overview
My client is seeking a QA Test Engineer with expertise in telecom testing, particularly in IMS, SIP protocol, and 5G Core network validation. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing and troubleshooting IMS architectures, SIP-based applications, and multimedia services. This role involves ensuring the quality and performance of next-generation communication solutions through rigorous testing, automation, and network analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Test Strategy & Execution: Develop, execute, and maintain test plans and test cases for IMS, SIP, and 5G Core network components.
* SIP & IMS Testing: Perform functional, integration, and regression testing on IMS architectures, SIP-based applications, and multimedia services like VoLTE and VoWiFi.
* Automation & Scripting: Design and implement automated test scripts using tools like Python, Robot Framework, or similar.
* Troubleshooting & Debugging: Analyze SIP signaling traces, log files, and network packet captures to identify and resolve defects.
* Interoperability & Performance Testing: Validate IMS and SIP service interoperability with legacy systems (e.g., PSTN) and measure network performance under various conditions.
* 5G Core Validation: Conduct testing on 5G Core network protocols and service-based architecture (SBA) components.
* Containerized Testing: Support testing and deployment of containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
* Security & Compliance: Ensure telecom software meets security best practices and industry standards.
Required Skills & Expertise
* Strong experience in QA testing within telecom/IMS environments.
* Deep understanding of SIP protocol for signaling and session management.
* Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
* Knowledge of VoLTE, VoWiFi, and multimedia service enablement.
* Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Robot Framework, Selenium, or similar.
* Experience with 5G Core network testing and validation.
* Understanding of network security principles in IMS and 5G.
* Exposure to containerized application testing using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
* Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages for test automation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Experience working with Tier 1 Telecom providers.
* Industry certifications in IMS, SIP, or 5G networking are advantageous.
