Musgrave Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join out Company OwnedFinance Team in Belfast.
Role Purpose: Preparing and reviewing weekly reports Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts Preparing and reviewing quarterly stock results Supporting the production of budgets and forecasts on a quarterly basis Supporting work on procurement and lowest cost Reviewing P&Ls across 42 stores Working with all departments and the management team to contribute to financial decisions Liaising with internal/external auditors on an interim and year end basis Role Scope: This role is a diverse one, which provides key commercial information to the Company Owned business.
It will support store managers and operations on understanding and interpreting the financial information they receive.
Area of Responsibility: Weekly KPIs, P&L and monthly management accounts Key Activities: Completing Weekly Sales Reporting Reviewing Weekly KPI report and Profit & Loss Account Reviewing weekly reports on payroll spends in stores and post office branches and analysing variances versus targets Detailed analysis of the intercompany accounts and completion of reconciliations for the monthly management accounts Working with our Dublin accounts team to complete monthly management accounts.
Providing insight to the store managers and operations team on key variances Providing insightful commentary on the weekly reports to drive the business Completing monthly overhead trackers for dissemination to the business Reporting on capital expenditure to key budget holders Area of Responsibility: Quarterly stock take analysis Key Activities Support stores at quarterly stock counts Collating quarterly stock results with the support of our Dublin accounts team, interpreting and analysing those stock results Providing commercial insights to the business on the reasons for stock loss Measures Timely and accurate completion of all quarterly stock takes, the subsequent reporting of the results and engagement with the Operations team to find ways to avoid stock loss.
Area of Responsibility: Quarterly forecasts and budgets Key Activities Contribute to the preparation of forecasts and budgets based on the assumptions provided by the business.
Preparing detailed budget files on gross profit and overhead costs (as directed by Senior Management accountant) Provide insight into key movements and areas Area of Responsibility: Ad Hoc tasks Key Activities Experience reviewing/auditing company accounts and doing detailed balance sheet analysis Supporting the business on the administration around the acquisition of new stores Travel to sites to carryout reviews where appropriate Support the business with analysis on gross profit and overhead areas as required Supporting profitability manager on procurement and lowest cost initiatives Dealing with ad-hoc queries on management accounts Knowledge and Skills: Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: Qualified Accountant with membership of a professional body e.g.
ACA / ACCA / CIMA 2 years or more relevant experience Ability to demonstrate experience in working in a fast-paced environment Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to agreed deadlines A fast learner, open to new ideas and an ability to engage fully with all business operations.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to explain financial terms simply to non-financial people Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: 3rd level business or finance qualification Accounting experience in the Retail/Wholesale sector.
Strong commercial experience, particularly in the preparation and presentation of reports and analysis.
