Compliance Analyst - 6 month Fixed-term Contract
Fineco Asset Management DAC (‘Fineco AM’) is a Dublin based Asset Management Company, and a subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (“FinecoBank”). FinecoBank (“Fineco”) is a leading European bank with a 20-year history and a fully digital DNA with a branchless approach since the start. Fineco is one of the banks with the widest products range available. Fineco have developed a truly one-stop-solution which includes trading, investment and payment services. Fineco have developed a 100% proprietary platform for trading and investment which covers all customer needs from trading listed and OTC product to investment product such as mutual funds and ETF.
Fineco AM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS & AIFM Management Company with a MIFID top up, and it currently has approximately €34bn in assets under management. Fineco AM is a competence centre specialized in the management of fund-of-funds, single strategy funds, as well as Structured Solutions Funds. In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally. Fineco AM started with 5 employees and has grown rapidly over the past 6 years with a headcount currently sitting at over 80 FTEs and growing quickly (half of our headcount was hired during the pandemic period). Currently Fineco AM manages 3 UCITS Umbrella Funds - in Luxembourg (1 fund) and in Ireland (2 funds).
The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic professional, reporting to the Company Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)/ DP for Regulatory and Compliance and working under the supervision of the Compliance Managers, to support the continuous growth of the Company.
The role and main responsibilities
* Drafting and updating of Policies and Procedures in line with MiFiD/AIFM Regulations.
* Act as Compliance representative for relevant projects and lead such projects as and when needed.
* Advise the firm on specific regulations (MiFiD/AIFM) including completing gap analyses as and when needed.
* Assist and complete regulatory reports as required for MiFID/AIFM companies.
* Strong knowledge of all applicable UCITS/AIFM/MiFID legislation/regulations.
* Assist in drafting reports for committees and board meetings.
* Implement new processes with relevant departments for MiFID/AIFM firm (e.g. suitability, due diligence, investment advice, etc.)
* Act as second line of defence in relation to the review of the pre-contractual documentation for UCITS and AIFs, due to a new fund to be launched, or updates needed or periodic review.
* Strong oversight, audit approach on the relevant delegates of (depositaries, external investment managers, transfer agents, etc.).
* Assist with developing staff training and delivering of the same.
* Support the CCO and the Compliance Managers as required in preparing reports and updates for compliance committee meetings, board meetings, the Central Bank of Ireland, the CSSF, senior management, group reporting and any other stakeholders.
* Assist in the promotion of an appropriate compliance culture within the organisation.
* Provide backup cover for other team members as appropriate and requested.
Key qualifications and attributes
* Direct experience in a Super Manco (AIIM/ MiFID top up).
* Relevant asset management or consultancy experience.
* Honours bachelor’s degree.
* LCOI qualification or study preferred.
* 1-3 years' experience in one or more the functional areas mentioned above.
* Specific knowledge of the UCITS/AIFMD/MiFID top up legislation/regulations and any relevant pre-contractual disclosure requirements.
* Strong knowledge of financial products and financial markets.
* Excellent quantitative, verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong facility and expertise with excel spreadsheet.
* Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
* Well-organised with strong time management and relationship skills.
* Be enthusiastic and eager to learn, self-starter.
