Position: Head of Keyboard
Contract: 5 year fixed term contract reporting to the Director of the RIAM.
Salary: Commencing point 1 of lecturer scale, which is €57,282pa (Point 1) to €97,487pa (Top of Scale).
Holidays: Annual leave of 29 days per annum to take account of RIAM closure days.
Working Hours: 35 hour net working week comprising a balance of teaching and administration.
Employer PRSA: 5% of gross salary minimum employee contribution and 10% of gross salary employer contribution.

About the Role: The position of Faculty Head is designed to facilitate the management of each RIAM Faculty to achieve and maintain the highest possible academic, musical and professional standards. You will be key in facilitating an excellent Keyboard student and stakeholder experience across RIAM's educational areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruit and maintain home and international students.
2. Create and facilitate a quality-focused learning environment.
3. Lead and develop the RIAM Keyboard Faculty strategically.
4. Manage all assigned staff in line with RIAM policy.
5. Contribute to continuous enhancement of the Faculty through staff recruitment and professional development.
6. Initiate and maintain high-level contacts within the profession.
7. Drive the academic strategy of the RIAM.
8. Uphold the highest standards of governance in all aspects of your role.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A postgraduate degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience in an appropriate subject.
Experience Required:
1. An international professional profile as a performing artist or arts leader.
2. A track record of excellence in teaching in a conservatoire setting.
3. Experience in a leadership role and managing teams and budgets.
4. Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. A deep knowledge of contemporary professional practice in performance.
2. Knowledge of the national and international cultural landscape.
3. Proven ability to deal with complex issues.
Interview Information: In the first interview, shortlisted candidates will be asked to give a presentation on a project/aspect of their role which involved leading a team to achieve a defined outcome. The second interview will involve a discussion on RIAM's 5-year strategy (2021-2025).
