Job Title: Bed Manager/Nurse Supervisor
The overall purpose of the Bed manager is to oversee daily admissions and bed management within Beacon Hospital.
Responsibilities:
* Balance the access demands of the Emergency department, add on admissions from Consultant rooms, and urgent/non-urgent elective cases with available beds.
* Participate in forecasting meetings to optimise resources for the following day/week.
* Contribute to winter bed management and other bed management initiatives.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Communicate regularly with wards and support junior nurses in coordinating admission and transfer of patients.
* Assess and evaluate patient care prior to transferring to the appropriate area for their condition.
* Liaise effectively with consultants and their support staff, emergency department staff, nursing management, and other staff as appropriate.
Management & Leadership:
* Assist with the direction and supervision of nursing and allied services to ensure high-quality patient care.
* Improve and maintain morale amongst staff through effective leadership, consultation, and communication.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Nursing and registered with NMBI.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Excellent IT skills.
Experience:
* At least 5 years clinical experience in an acute setting.
* Management experience is desirable.
