The principal purpose of the Accounts Assistant (contract) position is to support the finance team by performing routine accounting tasks, such as data entry, invoice processing and reconciliation. Its major objective is to ensure accurate and timely financial records, aiding in the smooth operations and financial health of the organisation.
Key Accountability
* Reviewing and processing invoices and purchase requisitions on relevant systems and ensuring they are coded to the correct nominal code, VAT code and department and cost center.
* Processing credit invoices and payments (including RCT).
* Preparation of bank and credit card reconciliation and ensuring corrective action is taken on outstanding issues.
* Assist with month-end procedures.
* Build key relationships with operations, customers and suppliers to quickly resolve issues that arise.
* Support and assist with any other duties that may encompass the role.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounts assistant role.
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices related to AR and AP.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
* Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Experience with financial ERP systems.
Work Environment
This position will be office based. This position is a 6 month contract position.
