The Logitech G team seek an individual passionate about simulation gaming, who thrives in a collaborative environment, eager to take on pivotal roles in innovation and product development for the next generation of simulation gaming products (Racing/Flight/Space). The ideal candidate has an active interest in the sim gaming genre and/or their real world counterparts.
Our Gaming Engineering team spreads worldwide, both in Europe and Asia, and focuses on the design of gaming peripherals including keyboards, mice, driving wheels, flight controllers and more. Our motivation is to help all gamers have the best in-game experience by focusing on user needs: big and small, young and less young, for all genders, because playing is such an important part of life.
The Role:
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for;
1. Driving innovation and new product development activities.
2. Identifying and exploring new product concepts/features/experiences for the simulation gaming genre.
3. Playing a leading role in a cross-functional team to design and develop these from product front end to successful mass production in the far east.
As a key member of the Logitech sim gaming team, the candidate is responsible for combining engineering expertise, testing and a relentless pursuit of creating the best products and experiences that are sold around the world.
A strong knowledge of electronics and electro-mechanical systems design is an advantage.

As a key member of the Cork Studio team, you will be responsible for ideating, exploring & prototyping mechanical & electromechanical solution concepts that transform user experiences. Along with delivering mechanical product designs for sim gaming products, from the Product Front End through product development and into successful mass production in the Far East.
You will also contribute to innovation and technology programs to enable simulation gaming product evolution.
Job description:
4. Development of user centric Simulation gaming products (Racing/Flight/Space) and participate in the development of User Experience (UX) research to develop customer focussed products.
5. Develop product architectures and new technology concepts
6. Mechanism design
7. Build mechanical/electro-mechanical proof of concepts to evaluate UX, function, manufacturability, and/or robustness
8. Ensure high quality robust design of complex mechanical systems and components using tools such as dFMEA, QFD and FEA simulation.
9. Analyse data generated from pilot builds and lab experiments
10. Work with Industrial Designers, and product development teams to define and develop products from concept to Mass Production
11. Perform tolerance analyses to verify performance of mechanisms and cosmetic specifications in the presence of high volume dimensional variation
12. Detailed 3D design and 2D documentation of all parts and assemblies
13. Interacting with vendors as well as internal Manufacturing, Supply Chain, NPI and Supplier Quality Engineering groups in the Far East to develop manufacturing processes, tooling
14. Define reliability testing requirements and equipment
15. Drive Innovation in the Sim gaming product category and continuous improvement/advancement of Engineering capabilities
16. Strong knowledge and experience in rapid prototyping, functional lab testing of concepts and analysis of test data.
17. Optimise designs for performance, quality and cost.
Key Qualifications:
Education:
18. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/mechatronics/Electro -Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:
19. 6-8 years experience in mechanical development of high volume consumer electronic products
20. Detailed knowledge of plastics, metal, injection moulding and tooling
21. Strong knowledge in Electro-Mechanical design and implementation
22. Fluent in Design/Development process and tools of high volume manufacturing
23. Fluent in Pro/Engineer or similar 3D CAD package including Advanced Surfacing
24. Strong knowledge in ANSYS simulation software
25. Knowledge & understanding of sensors/actuators
26. Strong Hardware & Firmware debugging skills
27. Highly skilled in problem solving
28. ‘Design Thinking’ mindset
29. Strong Communication skills with experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
30. Also good at communicating up with senior team and management
31. Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
32. Able to speak up and own
33. Strong Presentation skills
34. Experience in working with and prototyping electro-mechanical solutions is a strong advantage
35. Keen interest in latest tech and computing trends

36. A passion for the simulation gaming genre
37. Understanding of motor electro-mechanical architectures and function
38. Experience of thermal analysis, heat transfer, thermal-fluid systems
39. Experience in python programming
40. Experience in C/C++ embedded programming and embedded systems interfaces
