We are hiring a Chief Medical Scientist Haematology in a Private Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining throughout the hospital an awareness of the primacy of patient in relation to all hospital activities and maintain a clear understanding of the importance of providing a quality and safe service to all patients.
* Participating with the Laboratory Manager, and Consultant Haematologist in identifying and implementing operational processes in Haematology to the standards of ‘best practice’ to optimise use of resources.
* Promote good communication within the haematology department through departmental meetings and other means.
* Lead and co-ordinate scientific staff and support staff within their department.
* Ensure that the team is allocated according to their ability, education, training, and patient needs and apply maximum delegation compatible with safe work practice.
* Prepare budget estimates including a planned programme for replacing capital equipment.
* Manage the most effective use of available resources in their laboratory department.
* Promoting a professional, punctual, and dedicated team with good open communications.

Requirements
* Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science from the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Or
* Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Or
* Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork – Cork Institute of Technology course AND Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Practice. Or
* Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) or Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) AND Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the University of Dublin/Dublin Institute of Technology (Awarded prior to 2002). Or
* Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) AND BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences, University College Cork (UCC). (Awarded prior to 2013). Or
* Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, (DIT) or the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) (Awarded prior to 1994). Or
* Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science awarded before 1997 by Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) or Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Or
* An equivalent qualification validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM).
* Possess at least seven years full time clinical experience (or an aggregate of seven years full time clinical experience) as a medical scientist in a clinical diagnostic laboratory since qualifying as a medical scientist, two years of which were spent in a promotional post.
