Your new company Civil Project Engineer vacancy in Athlone / North Tipperary. Our client is involved in the construction and maintenance of roads across the country. For this position you will need 5+ years' experience in road maintenance or transport infrastructure. Your New Role: The Project Engineer will be involved in the planning, supervision and delivery of Works Orders consisting of routine and non-routine maintenance on 343 structures on the National Road and Motorway Network. The engineer will ensure compliance with the contract specifications and TII's specifications and requirements. They will be involved in surveying and assessing the network infrastructure and identifying defects and potential improvements which may be proposed to the employer for inclusion in future work order programmes. The role will involve monitoring and implementing the highest standards in the promotion of health and safety in all activities, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations. Managing packages of works with direct labour and subcontractors and ensuring the efficient use of plant, labour and materials in the delivery of works. Responsibilities Site setting out and supervision. Plan and co-ordinate gangs and subcontractors. Quantifying and Implementation of Project Proposals for internal & Client review Compile Budget costing for Commercial Team Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Local Authority contacts, TII Representatives, the Emergency Services, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors & stakeholders in general. Liaise with TII representatives with regard to works & surveys. When required, produce, document, and maintain all RFI's, TQ's, CVI's, Variation Orders etc., appropriate to each work order. Successfully manage the delivery of the works compliant with Contract Standards Ensure compliance of health, safety and environmental aspects of all works to the highest standards Ensure that all employees and subcontractors under their control are compliant with Company and Legislative HSE Standards. Ensuring Traffic Management is implemented in compliance with the company and national standards. Monitor, control & report subcontractor work performance and quality. Maintain daily production records and diary for all works. * Maintain field map logs and data captured from the site. Compile information for the Safety File for all specified work orders. Compile and deliver reports as required in accordance with the contract. Communicate with Line Manager & Senior management, providing progress information and identifying issues of concern in good time. Deliver against QA procedures. Work closely with site personnel & subcontractors and document and control working hours. Deliver projects within timelines, budget and compliant with agreed scope & quality. Represent the company at meetings with the TII representatives, members of the public and other stakeholders. Qualifications and Skills Requirement Civil/Construction or related Degree Industry recognised safety training to the relevant standard. Skills Project Cost Management Self-Starter. The ability to effectively plan & manage labour, plant, and material resources for a range of Civil works. Time management and prioritisation of work for self and team Excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills. Adaptable and flexible to the range of works required. Flexibility with regard to working time arrangements and travel requirements. Competent IT skills Full Driving licence Fluent English Key Experience Civil engineering works or road maintenance experience. Working on delivery of projects governed/delivered to TII Standards Working with traffic management - desirable An understanding of the demands of a pressurised environment Experience of delivering projects. Experience & Knowledge of at least one of; Surface Water Drainage systems, Pavements, Road Surface Treatments, Signage, Bridge Structures or Commercial Earthworks / Landscaping. Compliance with strict highway operational regulations from the client Demonstrable knowledge & experience of implementing Health and Safety policies, procedures & processes.
