Overview The Irish Tax Institutes education function delivers and assesses a range of education programmes including Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Tax Technician and Diploma in Tax. A vacancy has arisen on the education team, and we are seeking to recruit an experienced Assessment Coordinator. The successful candidate will have strong background in education and administration. About the role This is a permanent full-time position. The Assessment Coordinator will: Assist with all aspects of running assessments for all programmes delivered. Coordinate the assessment setting process and arrange meetings. Provide a professional and proactive service to external assessment teams, students and sponsoring employer firms. Together with the Assessment Manager, deliver training sessions to the external assessment teams and issue contracts for work undertaken. Proof-read and format assessment papers and solutions and build assessments on the online assessment platform, Cirrus. Deliver presentations and training with the Assessment Manager to students on how to use the Cirrus platform. Arrange and assist with reasonable accommodation during the assessments. Assist with running the online assessments in line with assessment regulations and working with others on the wider Education team to ensure students have complied with the assessment regulations. Prepare transcript copies of results and arrange for copies of exam scripts to be issued within permitted time frames. Carry out review of plagiarism reports relating to assignments submitted. Assist with the adjudication of assessment results, including extracting, analysing and importing results. Maintain and regularly update the assessment section of the Institutes learning management system (Blackboard) ensuring all information is relevant, accurate and up to date. Review and check quality assurance policies and procedures are adhered to. Keep up to date with online assessment technology and platform developments. Assist the Assessment Manager to provide guidance on new assessment tools and interface designs to be used in the Institute assessments. Assist with the preparation of the payments schedule on a monthly basis for all external assessment contributors. Provide support in the run up to the conferring ceremonies of the Institute programmes. Assist with such other related responsibilities as determined by the Assessment Manager including taking full responsibility for certain aspects of the assessments. Support the team led by the Education Operations Manager with regard to courses when required. Qualities and experience required Experience in an education role. Ability to work to strict deadlines. Excellent standard of written English. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team and with key stakeholders and contributors. Strong awareness of risk issues relating to assessments. Thoroughness and attention to detail. Excellent IT application skills including word and high level excel; proofreading skills and prior knowledge of online assessments would be an advantage.
