Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all site personnel adhere to Safe Systems of Work, comply with relevant legislation, and follow established safety policies. This includes promoting a strong Health & Safety culture and driving behavioural change.
* Manage the Health and Safety budget.
* Oversee the site's Health and Safety program, ensuring legal compliance and ongoing improvement.
* Maintain the site's Health and Safety systems.
* Conduct specialised risk assessments, such as Manual Handling, COSHH, and DSE, to mitigate risks in line with standards, commercial, and legislative requirements.
* Evaluate and provide appropriate training and safety measures.
* Prepare Health and Safety reports and lead monthly Health and Safety management review meetings.
* SUPPORT SITE MAINTENANCE TEAMS TO ENSURE COMPLETION OF STATUTORY INSPECTIONS, CURRENT PPM PROGRAMS, AND SAFE MACHINERY USE IN COMPLIANCE WITH LEGISLATIVE REQUIREMENTS.
* Actively assist in monitoring on-site contractors and controlling the Permit to Work System.
* OVERSEE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND SITE FIRE SAFETY ARRANGEMENTS ACCORDING TO FIRE SAFETY POLICY AND RISK ASSESSMENT.
* Monitor and report incidents classified under RIDDOR to the HSA and handle any resulting correspondence.
* Perform business risk analysis and approve all site-related risk assessments with line management support, making commercially sound recommendations to reduce risks.
* Assist the Site Training Coordinator in sourcing training based on needs assessments, particularly health and safety training, and deliver in-house health and safety programs as needed.
* Monitor compliance and conduct audits.
* Lead all communications with external authorities.
* Ensure accurate implementation and investigation of accidents/incidents to identify root causes and prevention.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
* At least 3 years of experience in Health & Safety Management within a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in NI and ROI.
* Background in managing health and safety in multi-site organisations.
* Demonstrated ability in influencing, coaching, communication, and time management.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
* Driving on-site Health & Safety initiatives.
* Ability to perform effectively under pressure and with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Desirable:
* FMCGLIC experience preferred.
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
Salary: The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
