The Chief State Solicitor’s Office (CSSO) is the principal provider of solicitor services to the Attorney General, to Government Departments and Offices. They provide a full solicitor led advisory, litigation and transactional legal service which covers the wide remit of the Civil Service and they are involved in many aspects of legal work including a wide range of civil litigation (including the European Court of Justice) as well as the provision of commercial, procurement, conveyancing, property law and general advisory services to an array of public service clients. The CSSO currently has vacancies for Principal Solicitors in two legal areas:
* Commercial/Procurement
* Litigation
Reporting to a Deputy Assistant Chief State Solicitor, Principal Solicitors work at the heart of the State’s legal service and successful candidates will have the unique opportunity to use their legal skills and expertise to contribute significantly to the functioning of the State.
The Principal Solicitors (Commercial/Procurement) and Principal Solicitors (Litigation) will lead and manage legal work and the development of strategies and policies for their appointed sections. In addition, they will be responsible for directly managing State Solicitors and/or State Solicitors Higher while striving to innovate, build and sustain high levels of performance.
