We are the Ellison Hotel, Castlebar, currently recruiting a Kitchen Porter to work 32 to 40 hours per week. You will be responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and tidy at all times, ensuring that crockery and equipment/utensils are washed and put away in a timely manner, and completing daily/weekly cleaning tasks as per the cleaning schedule.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in ensuring that kitchen operations run smoothly, collaborating with all chefs and service teams.
* Carry out basic cleaning tasks in accordance with cleaning schedules.
* Collect and clean pots, pans, and utensils.
* Use correct cleaning materials and chemicals as directed.
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness at all times, adhering to our HACCP system and health and safety regulations.
* Report any incidents, complaints, or accidents to management, including all maintenance needs.
* Report for duty on time and in full uniform.
* Maintain professionalism, ensuring a professional manner and tone is used when dealing with all team members across all departments.
* Carry out any duties as requested by the chefs on duty.
* Ensure that the kitchen is always kept clean and tidy, cleaning your immediate area of work.
* Communicate any anticipated shortages of cleaning products and materials promptly to the Chef de Partie, Senior Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.
* Ensure that all staff are treated fairly and courteously.
* Maintain quality and consistency levels of production and presentation, as directed.
* Maintain and set sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as dictated by the culinary leadership, not mentioned in this document.
* Unload food deliveries as directed.
* Ensure store rooms and walk-in refrigerators are kept clean and tidy.
* Assist in cleaning of back of house areas as directed.
