We do this by constantly monitoring, assessing, and responding to physical security, cybersecurity, and business continuity threats directed towards HPE and implementing mitigating controls.The successful candidate will be part of HPE's Cyber Defense Center (CDC) team.Key Responsibilities:Detect and manages Cyber Security incidents in real time through centralized monitoring.Analyze security events from multiple sources across a large enterprise network, including SIEM, IPS/IDS, firewalls, etc. and identify the cause of incidents.Researches threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, campaigns and indicators of compromise to apply effective Incident Response in real world scenarios.Respond to incidents by applying containment and eradication strategies.Work with Cyber Security & Soft skills Mentors from across multiple teams and locations.Develop processes and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.Drive innovation and improvement by identifying opportunities in new technologies, capabilities, processes and procedures. Experience:Required:Interest and basic understanding of Cyber Security risks, threats, best practices and prevention measures.A good all-round knowledge of IT and/or aptitude for learning new tools and technologies.A willingness to acquire in-depth knowledge of network and host-based security technologies.Proven ability to work in team environments.All of the below are desirable but not required as they will be taught:Understanding of TCP/IP networks and protocolsFamiliar with operating systems including Windows, Linux and macOSBasic understanding of phishing and malware techniquesStrong written and verbal communication skillsQualifications/Education and Eligibility:Recent Graduate from Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Networking, Computer Science or related discipline.Skills and Abilities:Be a dependable team player with strong business insight, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.Be an excellent communicator, whether writing, speaking or presenting.Possess an impeccable work ethic and a high degree of integrity.Ability to make rapid informed decisions, while working in an agile environment.A good all-round knowledge of ITAbout the HPE Galway Office:The Galway site has various business groups located in Ballybrit Business Park including a state-of-the-art Cyber Fusion Centre and a thriving Innovation Centre.
