About the role
What you need to know:
This position will be in the Customer Service/Underwriting Support team within the Operations & Service function. The role will primarily focus on supporting and managing Accident & Health business SME and Financial Lines, including:
* Providing prompt & accurate support to new and existing customers by phone, email and post. Attract potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about other products and services where opportunity arises based on customer needs. Ensure all sales enquires are fully maximised.
* Investigate and resolve routine customer enquiries at first point of contact, ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service to customers.
* Responsible for actively ensuring the retention of the customer base which includes promoting policy benefits to existing customers.
* Provide Administration support to A&H & FL Underwriting; issuing documentation, processing new and renewal premiums within strict time limits. Manage, organise, and update relevant data using database applications.
* Provide support to enable monitoring and resolving ‘out of hours’ telephone messaging service including email accounts and call back functions.
* Preparation of data and processing into accounting system. Reconciliation of data against month end system generated reports.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of standards, policies and procedures regarding customer service. Maintain Company standard during all interactions.
* Participate in developing and recommending changes to existing methods and systems to increase the accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness of the customer service department as a whole.
* Provide back-up support to other team members.
What we’re looking for:
* Hold a recognised MCC qualification (or be grandfathered) or be working towards a recognised qualification.
* Strong working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
* Strong written and oral communicational skills supported by a friendly and outgoing disposition.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong Organisational Skills.
* Self starter with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative within a small team.
* Excellent communication skills, co-operative, and helpful.
