This is a seasonal position that runs from March 15th through the end of season on November 3rd.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure department compliance with Health Department and Diversey regulations
2. Perform frequent audits of restaurants and stands
3. Verify food safety by evaluating different aspects of the environment including, but not limited to: food handler certifications, team member hygiene, food handling and storage, product labeling, expiration dates, cooking, holding and refrigeration temperatures, facility and equipment maintenance, equipment and restaurant cleanliness, disposal methods, food borne illness risks, presence of any health hazards
4. Record and organize findings from internal audits
5. Prepare reports including weekly recaps and suggestions on improving processes for regular review
6. Follow up on any implemented changes
7. Retain all completed documentation
8. Educate, regularly reinforce and provide training in the field and/or classroom setting for Team Members and leadership concerning food safety
9. Provide ongoing feedback to leadership team regarding needed improvements to comply with safety guidelines
10. Ensure all equipment is used safely. Promote safety awareness and identify safety hazards
11. Report any maintenance concerns that could have an adverse effect on food and personal safety
12. Provide refresher trainings on Diversey and Health Department guidelines
13. Participate in F&B Leadership meetings
14. Work closely with inspectors from third party compliance auditors and Health Department when on site
15. Enforce park policies
16. Ensure ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
17. Act as liaison with the park’s Public Safety Department
18. Have frequent communication with team members and leadership team
19. Instruct and Proctor Servsafe Food Manager and Alcohol Certifications
20. Motivate staff to reach department safety goals
21. Reward team members and leadership teams for good performance
22. Assist in park as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Minimum Age: 21
2. Teaching experience preferred
3. Experience in food management and health inspections preferred
4. Must obtain ServSafe Food Manager Certification (Company provided)
5. Must obtain ServSafe Alcohol Certification (Company provided)
6. Must obtain ServSafe Instructor Certification (Company provided)
7. Must obtain ServSafe Proctor Certification (Company provided) within 30 days of Hire
8. Must demonstrate knowledge of food borne pathogens, illness, and disease
9. Understanding of Federal, State and local laws, policies, procedures, standards, and specifications regarding the inspection of food facilities and products
10. Must demonstrate knowledge of food science
11. Comfortable working around guests and operate within a diverse community
12. Comfortable with frequent communication and follow ups with Department and in park leadership
13. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
14. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
15. Must have or are able to get Hepatitis A vaccinations
16. Demonstrate good critical thinking and decision making skills
17. Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
18. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
19. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
20. Must be professional, self-motivated, follow directions, and possess the ability to multi-task
21. Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others
22. Must be outgoing, polite, courteous, and maintain a positive attitude
23. Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
24. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
