Role:
The prime function of this position is to work with the existing team to ensure that the targets are met on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for operating technical equipment, optimizing loading for efficient logistics, and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a person who has previous forklift experience in a busy warehouse. Forklift operators will need to transport valuable stock, both raw material and finished goods, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination.
Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to site safety rules.
2. Adhere to organisation's business values and quality standards.
3. Ensure that all instructions from management are carried out accurately and efficiently.
4. Safely move items to preferred locations.
5. Loading and unloading of materials to and from different areas of racking, ensuring to correctly scan that product to and from the location on STL's WMS.
6. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment, including frequent daily inspections, before use, of that equipment's fit for use.
7. Reporting to STL leadership of any defects identified which impacts the equipment's fit for use status and ensure that, for personal safety and that of others, defective equipment is not used in the performance of your role until the issue is resolved.
8. Reporting to STL leadership of any safety issue caused involving any damage caused to either equipment or any racking etc. due to non-compliance with all H&S operational guidelines.
9. Maintain a high level of accuracy in all functions.
10. Always comply with company policies and guidelines particularly H&S as well as the wearing of required PPE and all timekeeping policies.
11. Excellent team player with good attention to detail.
12. Identifying workplace safety hazards.
13. Any reasonable request.
Experience & Skills:
1. Candidates must have 2 years forklift experience.
2. Valid Forklift License is required; turret truck (9 tonne) licence advantageous.
3. Valid Counterbalance or PPT forklift licence.
4. Valid Manual Handling Certificate desired (training can be provided).
5. Experience in warehouse systems would be an advantage.
6. Strong Safety and Quality Awareness.

8. Energy and enthusiasm with an ability to work on own initiative.
9. Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn.
