Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with a practical approach and attention to detail who will oversee the upkeep of our facilities and ensure the continued stability of our operations. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.
Key Requirements:
• Mechanical or electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.• 6+ years' experience as a Maintenance Technician (electrical) preferably in a manufacturing environment.• Leadership skills or previous supervisory experience an advantage.• Experience with PLC systems or completed PLC Training an advantage.• Decisive & ability to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines.• Excellent numeric and analytical skills.• Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative.• Ability to multitask and focused on setting high standards.• Team player who will work with others and individually to achieve company goals.• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to quickly identify practical solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
• Work within the ethos and standards of the company.• Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC.• Identify root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions.• Ensure production efficiency is maximized and return production to full capacity promptly.• Record all breakdowns in our SAP CMMS system.• Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and actively improve PMs to prevent issues from re-occurring.• Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and advise on spare parts sourcing when required.• Dismantle, adjust, modify, improve and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals or drawings.• Participate in machine installations, continuous improvements and maintenance projects.• Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements.• Contribute to achieving production and maintenance KPI's as part of a bigger team.• Ensure a safe, clean working environment and carry out work safely while meeting safety standards.• Liaise with relevant departments to assist in smooth day-to-day running of the organization.
