Job Profile
The role of the logistics specialist is to manage the inbound & outbound freight from production/manufacturing. To ensure that these orders are dispatched on time and efficiently. The specialist will be responsible for contributing to and carrying out logistics strategy decisions, ensuring the smooth running of all logistics processes, and planning, managing, and controlling the inbound & outbound schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensuring clear and concise communication of shipping arrangements is sent to all parties (production, PMs, customers).
* Responsible for ensuring delivery of finished product, including offloading and handling, has been coordinated in advance and runs efficiently.
* Working closely with the production manager and installation team to ensure shipments arrive on site to meet the install schedule.
* Addressing and resolving delivery problems as they arise in a timely and efficient manner.
* Overseeing the logistics process and working with the production manager to drive improvements and efficiency changes.
* Assisting in developing and implementing a system to track delivery times, costs, etc.
* Constantly reviewing shipping costs and working with estimating to ensure project quotations are accurate across all regions.
* Handling inward and outward freight of all stock items.
* Implementing shipping and packaging standards across the company.
* Working closely with the shipping department to improve material packaging.
* Ensuring packing lists are completed, signed off for each shipment, and sent to the relevant PM and customer.
Requirements
* >2 years of shipping/logistics experience is preferred.
* Experience in the customer service industry is desired.
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* High energy and ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Authorized to work permanently in Ireland.
* Within easy commute or willing to relocate to North Wicklow.
