Clinical Nurse Manager I: Acute Medical Admissions Unit (AMAU)
The post holder will be responsible for the education and development of nursing staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide orientation and supervision for new nursing staff, ensuring they are aware of policies and procedures to be followed.
* Identify training needs of the nursing and Health Care Assistant team while providing guide and support where necessary.
* Encourage evidence-based practice using a care planning approach to nursing care.
* Monitor and evaluate the care given.
* In consultation with the CNM II and other disciplines, implement and assess quality management programs.
* Collaborate with medical, paramedical, and others to devise a plan of care. Ensure it is implemented and evaluated.
* Engage with key stakeholders to ensure high standards of care are delivered and maintained for patients, staff, and visitors.
* Proactively manage quality and safety standards at local level.
* Deputise for the CNM II as required.
Requirements
* Registered General Nurse with The Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register.
* 3 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the last 5 years.
* Demonstrate management/in-charge experience within the last year.
* Demonstrate IT skills including excellent keyboard skills.
* Experience in teaching and assessing the nursing and Health Care Assistant team.
