As our Maintenance Team in Operations within the Industrial Gases in the UK and Ireland continues to grow, we would like to welcome a Field Electrical Engineer.
Electrical Field Engineers are part of the European Field Maintenance organisation which provides maintenance services to all the Global Operations production facilities in the UK and Ireland (and Europe when required). These services are primarily focused on practical work at the various production plants.
Electrical Field Engineers are responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, installation and some design of electrical equipment such as rotating machines, static systems and devices.
They will also support construction activities for plant improvement projects and commissioning activities for new plants and additions to existing production plants. Commissioning activities may be in support of both Sale of Gas contracts and Sale of Equipment contracts.
Electrical Field Engineers also provide training for plant based staff on the electrical systems, switching and electrical safety.

As the Field Electrical Engineer, you will:
* Provide technical support for the commissioning of new plant and equipment. Review and verification of correct installation, function checking, and commissioning of new plant electrical equipment, calibration and acceptance of equipment from contractors.
* At all times ensure that the required safety standards are made known and adhered to by those working with them.
* To respond to any major occurrence of electrical breakdown, carry out prompt inspection, analyse the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment to assure the minimum loss of production.
* Support plants with maintenance according to the Plant Maintenance programme. This could range from routine maintenance or major overhaul maintenance. This will include working on maintenance shutdowns.
* Carry out plant modifications according to central design specification, submit any self generated design changes to specialist engineers for approval before implementation. For some projects generate scope, cost and obtain Expenditure Approval and execute the work scope.
* Give advice and assistance to Plant Managers and their staff on maintenance matters as requested, drawing when necessary upon the technical resources and expertise of specialist engineers.
* In association with the Maintenance Systems group, review and update the technical content of the preventive maintenance procedures and to recommend changes where improvements in safety, quality or economy may be effected.
As the Field Electrical Engineer, you already are or have:
* Level 3 external qualification in Electrical Engineering or Completion of recognised electrical apprenticeship or proven skills in this area.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Good interpersonal & team working skills is crucial to working in a small team size.
* Strong safety mindset and focus on operating practices.
* Good communication and customer facing skills.
* Proactive and self-motivated with a positive attitude to deliver results.
* Computer skills.
* Driver’s licence.
