Job Summary
The Process Engineer will support the Operations department by improving manufacturing processes and optimising moulding, tooling, and automation solutions to meet customer and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the introduction of new products and establish standard specifications for all processes.
* Execute projects related to new products, continuous improvement, lean programs, and line extensions.
* Optimise and troubleshoot existing processes using statistical techniques.
* Collaborate with Production Group Leaders to resolve processing issues.
* Build relationships with customers and suppliers to support ongoing improvements and business growth.
* Address and resolve customer issues in conjunction with the Quality department, including CAPA actions.
* Develop and review documentation in line with ISO9001 and ISO13485 standards.
* Provide training to employees on new processes or systems.
* Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Requirements
* Education: Minimum Level 7 National Diploma in Plastics Engineering (preferably Level 8 or a Degree in Plastics Engineering).
* Experience: At least 5 years in the injection moulding industry, with knowledge of injection mould tooling, design, multi-component processing, robots, and automation systems.
* Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
* Familiarity with WCM, JIT, SMED, and Kaizen principles.
* Strong data analysis and computer skills, including manufacturing systems, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in the medical, packaging, or technological industries.
* Knowledge of real-time monitoring systems.
* Customer-facing experience in a professional setting.
* Understanding of Six Sigma methodology.
