Job Summary
We are seeking a Kit Room Technician to support our Dublin facility's day-to-day operations. This role involves working independently, problem-solving, and learning technical equipment.
Main Responsibilities
* Daily duties in the Kit Room: managing logistics, deliveries, collections, and customer service.
* Building and testing technical equipment for hire.
* Goods In: receiving deliveries, processing paperwork, checking equipment, and identifying outstanding items.
* Goods Out: overseeing outbound collections, ensuring goods are prepared, packed, and loaded.
* Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
* Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security within the work environment.
* Managing paperwork for inventory control, stock counts, client/supplier queries, and general administration tasks.
* Ensuring good housekeeping within the facility.
* Shipping goods: preparing shipments, booking delivery, and tracking arrival.
* Receiving and processing new products: asset listing and uploading information onto our asset management system.
* Maintaining inventory/stock control systems to ensure accurate equipment location and storage.
* Driving vans for delivery and collection of equipment to film studios, which may involve early starts or late finishes.
* Cleaning equipment: requiring care when handling expensive technical equipment.
Additional Duties
* Electric stacker duties with training provided.
* Cable making with training provided.
* PAT testing with training provided.
* Mechanical cart maintenance with training provided.
* Monitor calibration with training provided.
Candidate Requirements
* Manual driving license.
* Flexible attitude towards work arrangements, including daily tasks and hours.
* Ability to meet deadlines and deliver consistent results.
* Flexibility in daily tasks and working hours.
* Physical activity required for moving and handling equipment.
* Practical DIY skills.
* Common sense and ability to work unsupervised.
* Conscientious and positive attitude with pressure-handling ability.
* Flexibility to juggle tasks as business needs change unexpectedly.
* Discretion when working in sensitive film production areas.
* Computer literacy with MS Office (Excel, Word) and Apple, with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
Desirable but Not Essential
* Interest in electronics/computers or AV, film equipment.
* Relevant experience with technology and DIY.
* Higher education.
* Understanding of Carnet or ATA Carnet.
* Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, AVID Media Composer, and Pomfort Silverstack.
Working Conditions
* Average 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend hours.
* Hours of business: 8 am to 6 pm, covered in shift patterns, with flexibility to work outside these hours if needed.
* Holiday entitlement: 30 days per year, including bank holidays.
