An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join our team in Castletroy. We are seeking a CORU registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with both children and adults in a dynamic primary care setting.
This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in both paediatric and adult care while making a real difference in people's lives. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologists, and Social Workers.
Your Role:
As a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering tailored therapy interventions to both children and adults. You will work within a community setting, supporting clients to achieve their maximum independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
* Paediatric Caseload (50%): Assess and treat children with developmental delays, sensory processing difficulties, coordination issues, and other functional challenges.
* Provide early intervention strategies and collaborate with parents, schools, and caregivers to support children's development.
* Develop and implement individualised therapy plans to improve fine motor skills, handwriting, play skills, and daily activities.
* Adult Caseload (50%): Support adults with neurological conditions, mobility challenges, cognitive impairments, and age-related functional difficulties.
* Provide rehabilitation, functional re-training, falls prevention, and self-care reablement.
* Conduct home and environmental assessments to recommend assistive technology, complex seating, and adaptations.
You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, evidence-based therapy interventions. You will also maintain clinical documentation and contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
What You Need:
* Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy & be registered with CORU.
* Experience (or placements) in either paediatrics, adults, or both within a primary care/community setting.
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with both children and adults.
* Good organisational skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.
* Full clean driving licence and access to own transport is an advantage.
* Legal right to work in Ireland (current residency required).
