Savills is seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance professional to take on the role of Head of Finance within its Residential Management & Lettings team. This individual will manage all financial deliverables to clients ensuring seamless service delivery and financial accuracy for our 6,000+ unit portfolio across multiple institutional clients. The candidate should also be able to assess, maintain and improve reporting, operational and financial processes, enhancing performance of both internal procedures and external operations for our clients.
The role involves working closely with the Residential Management & Lettings, Commercial Property Management and Central Finance teams and requires a strong technical finance background, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a strategic mindset to optimise financial reporting, operational efficiency, and client service standards.
The role is an onsite role based in Molesworth Street, Dublin 2.
Key Responsibilities
Key tasks and responsibilities include the following:
Financial management and reporting
1. Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial and management reporting packs for institutional clients within the Residential Management & Lettings property portfolio.
2. Monitor service charge accounts and property-related financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
3. Proactively manage the finance relationship with internal and external service providers including the establishment and monitoring of service level agreements.
4. Analyse financial data to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable insights.
5. Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
6. Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.
7. Co-ordinate with key stakeholders to ensure that reporting commitments for each of the properties are met and that any issues are appropriately resolved on a timely basis.
8. Oversee the financial management of the portfolio ensuring all key reconciliations are completed appropriately and with supporting documentation.
9. Working with internal colleagues and external consultants to ensure compliance with filing obligations relevant to the property portfolio.
10. Provide support to colleagues in the Accounts Payable and Cash Management teams to resolve queries and ensure that both the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subledgers are maintained to a high standard, accurate and up to date.
Operational efficiency and strategic growth
1. Work closely with the Director and Head of Residential Management & Lettings to optimise management structures, enhance operational efficiencies, and strengthen visibility and ownership over the financial reporting structure.
2. Evaluate and redesign key processes as appropriate to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall effectiveness.
3. Lead end-to-end finance and operational transformation projects, from strategy development to execution.
4. Identify opportunities and assist with projects that will drive efficiencies within the department and assist with the implementation of systems and processes.
5. Implement automation and digital tools to modernise financial and operational workflows.
6. Work with internal and external auditors in the preparation of audit requirements.
7. Collaborate with senior leadership to align transformation goals with business objectives.
8. Other ad-hoc duties as determined by the business.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
To get this job, you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
1. Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA accountant with 5+ post qualification experience in a senior finance role.
2. Experience within real estate and/or property management finance is highly desirable.
3. Strong understanding of financial principles, operational processes, and best practices.
4. Demonstrated experience in overseeing accounting functions, implementing process improvements, completing month end and year end close activities for multiple entities including financial and management reporting.
5. Ability to analyse problems, develop and implement solutions to generate immediate results. The ability to challenge established practices and policies.
6. Experience in delivering financial and operational improvements ideally with a using technology as a key enabler.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, (written and verbal) with the ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
8. Positive and flexible attitude with the aptitude to take ownership of work as required and see it through to completion.
9. Ability to work well under pressure, to prioritise tasks and focus on meeting deadlines.
10. Proven track record of strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
11. Highly proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
12. Experience in the use of system based financial, data analytic, audit and workflow-based monitoring tools would be an advantage.
