We are looking for a Senior Building Services/Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer to join our Irish on-site team based in Leixlip, Co Kildare (hybrid/site-office based – 2 days per week) who is excited about working on Advanced Facilities projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business.
Join us and you will have the chance to both support and lead projects for our semi-conductor client. You will be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You will also provide on-site assistance during the project commissioning process, working closely with the client, the Trade Contractors, vendors, other design and engineering professionals and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for HVAC, Specialty Exhaust systems, Specialty Wet Utility systems, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems and components.
You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Mechanical discipline. In this role you will solve complex problems, take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions, and work independently with minimal guidance in only the most complex situations. You may lead a functional team or project and serve as a best practice and quality resource.
You will also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise mentoring junior team members to help your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward. Here's what you'll need:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Building Services/Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering.
2. At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical engineering and design, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and related mechanical building systems.
3. At least 5 years’ Design experience with mission critical facilities in the industrial/advanced technology sector.
4. Experience in independently leading a functional or project team including organizing, assigning, and delegating necessary engineering and design tasks, while engaging with staff to provide on the job training and mentoring.
5. Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
6. Working knowledge of International Building Codes and local Irish regulations and standards.
7. Experience working with or working knowledge of Building Energy Modeling Software.
8. Experience working with or working knowledge of Fluid Modeling and Simulation software.
9. Experienced work in AutoCAD software.
10. Experience working with a BIM environment, and a working knowledge of Navisworks with some experience with Revit software.
