MyBan Analyst/Developer (Permanent Contract)

MyBan is the name given to the Ellucian Banner Student Records Management System (SRMS) and associated systems in MTU.
This is the central University system for all student records, containing processes such as Admissions, Registration, Examinations, Fees to name a few.
There are two instances of Banner in the University Cork and Kerry.
A project is underway to merge these instances.
The Banner instances in the University are cloud-based and are provided and supported by EduCampus/DXC as part of the sector consortium.
The MyBan team administer MyBan and associated systems, work with functional users on implementing processes in MyBan, identify enhancements, provide support to functional users, run and support Examination processing.
A significant part of the work involves improving the experience of users through the provision of solutions and reports.
The baseline system has several customisations developed in-house to support the business practices within the University.
The MyBan team are responsible for any associated integrations/projects including upgrades.
This role as a MyBan Analyst/Developer will work with the MyBan Senior Analyst/Developer to provide analysis and development support inputting into the MyBan teams, working on the maintenance and application of Banner standards, becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of applications & reporting tools used with the SRMS, working with team members both functional and technical in enhancing the SRMS.
The Banner database system is Oracle based, cloud hosted.
A significant part of the role involves PL/SQL development.
The main reporting tool used for operational reports is eVisions Argos.
Banner provides a number of development tools for forms and update facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of enhancements to the SRMS and associated systems; Work with the Senior Banner Developer/Analyst and/or the myBan functional leads and team to develop and maintain existing and new enhancements, reports etc.
Troubleshoot issues reported by users and/or myBan team.
Support/lead the design and development of local enhancements as directed by the myBan team leads; Work with the team to increase awareness of technology enabled learning and best practice in the field; Liaise with all members of themyBan team on projects and work schedule; Provide updates to the MyBan leads as required; Participate in the needs assessment, identification of, design and delivery of Training; Undertaking additional duties as may be assigned by the University from time to time.

Desirable Skills:
Postgraduate qualification in the area of Software development Experience in Database development Oracle PL/SQL or equivalent Experience with reporting tools such as eVisions Argos Knowledge of HTML 5, Java, Javascript; Experience of collecting and analysing user requirements, process design through to roll-out; Experience of maintenance and support of local enhancements Ability and experience of working as part of a project team; Excellent problem-solving skills; Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage workload; Experience in managing client relationships; Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; Experience working with subject matter experts; Ability to design, develop and deliver group and individual training.
Minimum qualifications & Experience for appointment to the post Honours primary degree (Level 8) in a relevant area; and At least three years relevant professional postgraduate experience in a development role with significant database development and/or postgraduate qualification in the area of Software development.
Salary The posts will be aligned to the salary scale of Technical Officer within the University.
The successful candidate(s) will be appointed to point one of the following salary scale.
€44,744 - €74,742(Long Service Increment- payable after 3 years service on the max of the scale) Citizenship Requirement Candidates should note that eligibility to compete for posts is open to citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or to non-EEA nationals with a valid work permit.
