Job Description:
As an Architectural Technician with our Public Sector client, you will play a key role in shaping the built environment of Armagh. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing architectural solutions that meet the needs of various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct building and site surveys to inform estates records and facilitate effective management.
* Develop project briefs in collaboration with authorised representatives from Client Departments.
* Conceptualise and design buildings, creating plans, drawings, and specifications up to tender stage, leveraging computer-aided technology systems where appropriate.
* Submit proposals and engage with statutory bodies, including DENI, The Planning Service, Public Health, and Building Control, as required.
* Analyse building codes, technical guidelines, and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal design outcomes.
* Coordinate and lead input from Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural Consulting Engineers throughout the design process.
* Oversee contracts on-site, chair meetings, and record minutes for action, as necessary.
Requirements:
* Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma in Architectural Technology/Building Studies/Construction OR Foundation Degree in Architectural Technology OR Other approved course by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT).
* A minimum of 3 years' experience working as an Architectural Technician/Architectural Assistant within the construction industry.
* Demonstrable experience of supporting Project Managers/Architects in delivering construction projects through RIBA Works Stages 0-7.
* Experience in preparing Planning Applications, Building Control Applications, and liaising with statutory bodies, utility providers, etc.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD.
