Who Should Apply?
This role will suit an experienced Data Architect with the following:
* 6+ years in data engineering or a related role.
* 4+ years in a data architecture role, providing technical leadership.
* Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena).
* Experience designing and implementing data lakes and data ingestion pipelines.
* Proficiency in Apache Spark, Python, and SQL for data processing.
* Experience with data cataloguing and governance tools (e.g., AWS Glue Data Catalog).
* Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
Role and Reporting Lines
Reporting to senior leadership, the Lead Data Architect will be responsible for:
* Data Architecture – Designing and implementing AWS-based data lake solutions.
* Data Ingestion Pipelines – Developing scalable ingestion processes using AWS Glue and Amazon Kinesis.
* Data Processing & Transformation – Utilising AWS EMR, Apache Spark, and AWS Lambda for ETL processes.
* Data Governance & Security – Ensuring robust security measures and regulatory compliance.
* Collaboration – Working closely with system engineers, analysts, and development teams.
* Performance Optimisation – Continuously enhancing data infrastructure efficiency.
* Technical Leadership – Providing mentorship and strategic direction for the data team.
* Innovation & Emerging Tech – Staying ahead of industry trends and implementing new technologies.
