Cpl are working with a client in the Construction Sector who are currently looking to hire a Financial Controller to join the team!
Full job description
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to and supporting the Finance Director on the performance and strategic development of the finance function
2. Assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and other financial reports for review
3. Maintain and control check and balances on various nominal ledger account in line with month end preparation
4. Full responsibility for the oversight of Group payroll, Supplier and Subcontractor functions
5. Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of growth and efficiency. Managing a team of 4 accounts staff.
6. Review and authorise payment files on the online banking platforms.
7. Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across areas such as VAT, Tax and other regulatory obligation in multi jurisdictions.
8. Preparing annual budgets, short term and long term cashflows • Engaging with the commercial department to ensure accuracy of various rates in use for estimating on projects.
9. Preparation of information for external auditors for the annual audit • Interfacing with 3rd party organisations such as external auditors, tax advisers, Global payroll advisers as required.
10. Align financial strategies with long-term business objectives, enhance financial systems, and streamline processes to improve reporting and efficiency.
11. Drive the Finance department KPIs and monthly reporting
Ideal Candidate:
1. ACCA, CIMA or ACA Qualified min 3yrs
2. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
3. Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams, with strong communication and interpersonal capabilities
4. Results-driven, proactive, and commercially aware, with high levels of integrity and a focus on continuous improvement
5. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
6. Experience in a multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional setting an advantage.
7. Effective communication, supervision, and managerial skills
8. Excellent IT skills - must have a high level of computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
9. Excellent organisational skills
10. Strong team player
